Listen to this series about America's favorite pass time: Psychopaths!

Part 1 https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127888976

Part 2 https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128116806

Here's some more general psych resources you'll be interested in:

Ok, that's a lot of resources, but now you have a baseline to clarify/complete all the information you've learned from the textbook and Module Introduction Page.

For this assignment you'll be making a podcast explaining the links between psychology and criminal behavior. You can use any of the links I've provided to inform your discussion and certainly you can use your own research as well.

First download the podcast and recording software from Podcast-O-Matic. Again, freeware only please. *****I find that this software is picky about the browser you use and Firefox seems to work the best for me. If it doesn't work try another browser.****** You'll also find a helpful "How To" video in the Resources module which will go through the process.

Your podcast will be 3-5 minutes long, but you can develop it however you like. For example, you can pretend to be an influences and make something like a weekly update on a CJ topic (Ie: The Mister Jones Weekly Criminal Justice podcast)You can just pretend you are a news show like 60 Minutes, providing an in-depth exploratory about a recent event that involved a psychopath, or you can involve a helper and have them ask you specific questions about psychopaths (I'd make that like a case study like the "Cannibal Cop") and you act as the "expert" on the issue (Ie: Today I'm interviewing Dr. Jones, an expert on psychopathic criminality, to help us understand the case of _____). Whatever format you wish as long as it's yours.

The focus of your podcast will be about the intersection of psychology and criminal behavior but beyond that it's up to you. You can talk about using psychological criminology to find or predict criminality, using psychology to explain criminal behavior, links between psychopathy and criminality, whatever you wish. However, in your podcast you need to site at least 3 non-textbook references from any of those I've provided or your own research (refer back to them in your discussion), any 2 of the theories from Ch 6 of the textbook, and you'll present at least 1 set of statistics about psychopaths and crime. Beyond that it's up to you so be creative and have fun with it.

When complete save it and upload a shareable link here. Make sure your link works correctly (try it on yourself) before you submit it as often students send the URL; that is not the right, sharable link.
