  1. Location/ setting What is the name of the small hotel, B&B, or inn, and where is it located? What is the address? How far is it from the Stearns Wharf area? How far from the main downtown area of Santa Barbara (you may use Paseo Nuevo as a reference location)? Remember, it should be within walking distance of the main downtown area of Santa Barbara and, if possible, within a few blocks of the Stearns Wharf area.  Remember:  No Airbnbs.
  2. What other small hotels, B&Bs or inns did you consider?  Why did you ultimately select this particular property (small hotel, inn, or B&B)?  (2 points)
  3. Description of the property itself (4 points): Describe the small hotel/inn/B&B as if you are speaking to your client.  How would you present your recommendation to him?  That is, what does the hotel or inn look like architecturally? Is it quaint, historical, or modern? How many rooms does it have? Is it unique in any way that might make Steven and Jill's experience special? How would you describe the "atmosphere?"  Why is it a great choice for your clients and this special getaway?  Hint:  When describing the property to your client, make sure you employ strong benefit statements. If you need more information about what a benefit statement is, check out "Drilling Down to get to the Benefit Statement".
  4. Types of rooms and differences in pricing : Are there any rooms that fit Steven's specific requests (review the type of room he requested)? If so, what is the room rate? If there are no rooms that fit Steven's requests exactly, describe the type of room you would recommend (and why you are recommending it), and list the room rate. Look at any packages that are available. Is there a "package" that you could suggest that might be fun for Steven and Jill's romantic getaway? If so, describe what is included in the package, and list the price for the three nights.
  5. Dining and other activities on-site or nearby Describe the types of activities, attractions, and/or recreational options that are available at and/or near the property (be specific). What activities are available in the immediate area that you are sure your clients will enjoy, based on what they have told you about their personal interests? Make sure you consider the activities that Steven mentioned and create strong benefit statements that connect Steven's preferences with your recommendation(s).  (See #3 for more information about benefit statements.)
  6. Describe the restaurant you would recommend for their special anniversary dinner () Where is it located, and how far from their hotel/inn is it? Is it highly rated with a romantic atmosphere?  If it is not on the water, as Steven requested, why do you consider it the best choice for this special occasion? How will you describe it for your client in terms of what he is looking for?  That is, what is the atmosphere like, and what makes it particularly appropriate for this intimate, romantic dinner, and how does it meet his expectations? Did you read any reviews that support your recommendation? Is there a restaurant on the water that you might recommend for a different meal?
  7. Reviews (2 points): Consult at least one hotel review website that includes your property, and includes this hotel review site in your bibliography. Describe any consistent positive (or negative) comments about your property that influenced your recommendation.
  8. Include a bibliography for the resources you used to research this assignment.
