Looking at Mark's leadership through a lens focused on behavioral perspective, I believe he is more task-oriented, focusing on being a highly effective leader making necessary changes that ultimately benefit the company through his diligence and organizational skills. He illustrated a task-oriented leadership style (Northouse 2022) from the start by completing a four-month analysis to try and mitigate costs to become a more efficient and effective business. I can respect the diligence and planning that Mark approached his responsibility as the head of the painting division with. During the first phase of his leadership, Mark set the standards and expectations for completing tasks within certain margins of cost and time, the struggle of this phase would be the lack of communication or feedback with the employees.
