Looking for help with my accounting project and the company is (Target) FINANCIAL STATEMENT ANALYSIS PROJECT 1. Choose an annual report or 10Kof any publically traded company. Please let me know as soon as possible which company you will be analyzing so that no two students use the same company. Any annual report, which includes the financial statements, can be found online. Companies will be first come, first served. 2. Describe the company you are analyzing in your annual report. Please include general information about the company, where the company is located, information about the industry in which it operates, its strengths and weaknesses, its competitors, etc. The company information should be at least one full page for full credit, single-spaced or two pages, double-spaced. 3. Prepare a horizontal or trend analysis of the income statement and the balance sheet presented in your annual report. Show both the dollar changes and the percent changes from one year to the next. Prepare this analysis using the two most recent years presented in your annual report. Round your percentages to four decimal places and then convert them to whole percentages (Ex. .2546 = 25.46%). 4. Prepare a vertical or common-size analysis of the income statement and the balance sheet presented in your annual report. Prepare this analysis using the two most recent years presented in your annual report. Round your percentages to four decimal places and then convert them to whole percentages (Ex. .2546 = 25.46%). 5. Determine the following measures for the most current year only presented in your annual report, rounding to two digits after the decimal point. If a ratio cannot be calculated, state the reason why. (a) Current Ratio (b) Acid-test Ratio (c) Accounts Receivable Turnover (d) Days Sales Uncollected (e) Inventory Turnover (f) Days Sales in Inventory (g) Total Asset Turnover (h) Debt Ratio (i) Equity Ratio (j) Times Interest Earned (k) Gross Margin Ratio (l) Profit Margin Ratio (m) Return on Total Assets 6. From the data calculated in parts 2 through 4 above, state what conclusions could be made. Comment on any significant changes and trends for the company, both positive and negative. Your conclusions should be at least one-half page, single-spaced or one full page, double-spaced. Please note that this project can be completed after you have finished Chapter 17 When preparing the horizontal and vertical analysis for your company, please use your income statement and balance sheet as it is reported in your annual report (rather than trying to make it look like what appears in your book). Your companys financial statements will look different from the examples because each company customizes them to meet their needs. When submitting your project, please submit the balance sheet and income statement from your annual report with it. I do not need your entire annual report or 10-K submitted with your final project.
