For your mock negotiation, the most important part is to DO YOUR RESEARCH before the negotiation and make sure to be able to clearly state your case with factual statistics available to you in order to be able and back up your point to interviewers. Some great resources that you can start with include Payscale.com, Salary.com, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics salary reports, Robert Half salary guides, etc. There are a lot of really helpful resources you can use that can help you illustrate your point. Make sure these resources are reputable and I would use the ones that give you a higher salary range for your position and industry in order to help support your case. The idea of a negotiation is to aim a bit higher than expected and then hope that the employer will meet you in the middle with your ask. I would also look up information about cost of living going up/inflation in order to try and drive a stronger point in your favor. When you do your research, make sure that you include statistics that include all different scenarios (for example for Disney World, you might want to include cost of living statistics specific Name: Section #: to the state of Florida in comparison to the United States or Texas) and attach the data that you found that you are choosing to use to the back of this assignment when you turn it in. This is so that when grading your papers, we know that you were able to gain experience looking up these statistics and were able to bring up valuable points in your argument using said data.
