(1) Chlorine atoms react with ozone (O3) to form chlorine monoxide and molecular oxygen.
 
(2) Chlorine monoxide forms ClOOCl.
 
(3) ClOOCl absorbs sunlight and breaks into chlorine atoms and molecular oxygen.
