Lucinda decided to renovate her kitchen. She engaged Dale to do the work at an

agreed price of $15,000.00 and completion date of 31 July. After the work had begun,

Lucinda discovered that her mother had decided to visit her from England and

planned to come mid July. She promised to pay Dale another $1,000.00 if he could

have the work completed by 14 July. Dale finished the work by 14 July but Lucinda

refuses to pay the extra $1,000.00.
