Lucy took five (5) pieces of her blouses to Super Clean Laundry. At the entrance of the shop, there was a notice stating as follows:

"The management shall not be liable for any loss or damage to your clothes."

Lucy thought about it for a while but proceeded with her laundry plan. She gave the five blouses for laundry and paid RM50 for the laundry. She was given a receipt by Super Clean Laundry for the said amount. On the receipt there was a similar notice as at the entrance of the shop. A week later, Lucy came to collect her blouses but was shocked to find that four of her blouses were damaged with colour stains and the remaining one was missing. She demanded the management of Super Clean Laundry to pay her the cost of all the five blouses but the management refused to do so stating that they have successfully excluded themselves from any claims by their customers. Lucy is very confused. Advise Lucy with reference to statutory provisions under the Contracts Act 1950 and decided cases, if any.
