The company requires a final inventory of available raw materials at the end of each quarter equivalent to 25% of the production requirements of the following quarter. This requirement was met on December 31, 2019, as the company had 150,000 pounds of raw material on hand to start the new year. The raw material costs $ 0.72 per pound. The company has a policy that requires an ending inventory of available finished units (finished goods) at the end of each quarter equal to 30% of budgeted sales for the next quarter. This requirement was met on December 31, 2019, as the company had 12,500 units available to start the new year.
