make a short response on: R: I knew the positive relationship between money incentives and higher performance, but I didnt realize, and it is true, that when you take the money off the table, the scenario is completely different. If we are happy with our salary, meaning youre covering all your needs and even more, what else can we do to be better or performed better at work? Assuming we are performing as good as we can, if the employer doesnt do anything else to motivate these employees, they will look for another job, because they will get bored or frustrated on this job.
Therefore, I agree with the researcher, on the matter that if you take the money off the table, you will have happier workers without the money fact, but the employers will face a new challenge, to keep those employees in the company and the task could be even harder to accomplished throughout time.
What are the implications of this for employers developing employee reward systems in the st century?
R: Yes, as I said above the challenge will be to keep those employees happy. So the reward system companies should have is based on recognition, self development, higher quality life, creative challenges, flexible work hours and so on Today I believe most of the companies that pay more than the minimum wage are already in the path to it The problem are the businesses that dont care about their employees because they think there are always workers to find for the minimum wage.
