Describe what is meant by Maslow's self-actualization.

He believed that human motivation is based on people seeking fulfilment and change through personal growth. Self- actualize people are those who were fulfilled and doing all they were capable of. It is the complete realization of one's potential, and the full development of one's abilities and appreciation for life. This concept is at the top of the Maslow hierarchy of needs, so not every human being reaches it.

List and explain the characteristics of a person who is self-actualized.

Self- actualizers can judge situations correctly and honestly. They are very sensitive to superficial and dishonest things. Comfortable acceptance of self, others and nature. Self- actualizers accept their own human nature with all its flaws.

What are peak experiences and discuss the types of people who experience them.

High points in life when they felt in harmony with themselves and their surroundings. Some people describe these moments as being filled with joy of the purest kind and for others they are spiritual experiences. People reported that peak experiences tended to occur during artistic, athletic, or religious experiences. Moments in nature or during intimate moments with family or friends were also common. Achieving an important goal, either a personal or collective one, could also lead to a peak experience.

What is intrinsic motivation and give some examples.

Intrinsic motivation, the incentive for engaging in a behavior or completing a task is performing the task itself. For example, when someone decides to eat ice cream, typically their motivation to enjoy the pleasure of eating the ice cream. They are not doing it for some external reward.

Based on personal experience through introspection and phenomenological self-observation. Buddhist while initially unreliable, one's mind can be trained, calmed and cultivated so as to make introspection a refined and reliable method.
