I selected this tool because it can be used for a variety of compliance issues. I would list it in the Business Transactions category, but it can also be used for government program, HIT, and employment compliance issues. This tool is selected over other compliance tools because it addresses health care fraud and abuse issue that can arise under the False Claims Act, Physician Self Referral Law, Antikickback Statute, or fraud laws. Fraud penalties are high, so it would be a corporate priority to ensure solid compliance with HHS OIG program requirements.
