Managers face numerous unprecedented challenges in the pursuit of organizational success and growth. The global business outlook is becoming more competitive and evolving rapidly; thus managers need to have insight and foresight into the present and future. To be aloft and successful, organization must learn, adapt and engage various systems and disciplines to be able to device and implement sound decisions and strategies to move the organization forward. Systems thinking looks at the organization as a holistic body and tends to put together and maximize all available resources for positive output.

This paper will discuss how organizational structure, culture and human capital can effectively and efficiently impact change and bring about growth.

Case Study

Organizational Background

My company has been consulted and tasked to research into the current situation, offer professional service and possibly come up with some recommendations and strategies that would move the organization forward.

'All In One Charity is a non profit charity organization founded by some friends who are passionate about helping the needy, the less privilege in our communities in the areas of education, welfare and other social amenities. The charity was founded in 2018 and operates a functional structure with clear defined roles and chain of command.

Current Challenges with the Organization

All in One Charity is new in the market/industry and like most organizations and start ups; they are faced with some daunting challenges that need urgent and proper attention. One of the challenges is lack of adequate funds to undertake projects. The charity is self funded, thus this problem. Another challenge is lack of proper planning and experience, lack of innovation and creativity, and a challenge to get the right skill set for the jobs.

All In One Charity cannot function effectively and efficiently without properly interconnecting and interrelating all the systems both human and non human to meet and reach its goals.

The leaders must be proactive and innovative to solve problems and to forecast the future imminent challenges and potential opportunities. Systems thinking is the right framework for high performance ,success and sustainability.

The internal and external environments must be properly considered, analyzed, and looked into for optimal use. They constitute the fabric of any organization; and determines its success or failure.

It imperative that All In One Charity looks into the needs and expectations of current and potential employees .Job satisfaction and motivations are intrinsic values and needs that most employees place high value on.

The human capital is the greatest asset and should be treasured and treated fairly. A motivated and highly engaged workforce means high performance and great output. Open communication, and frequent feed backs builds trust and transparency.

Conclusion

After thorough research and findings, I have come to the following conclusions and recommendations:

  • All In One Charity must set up a fund raising committee mobilize funds and resources for project undertakings
  • A research and development department must be instituted to promote learning, training, skill development and research
  • Invest in technological development and collaborate with other charities in the same or similar venture
  • Proper planning and consultation
  • Adopt an open communication with frequent feedback and dialogue with managers and staff
