Managing exploding data, commonly known as Big Data, will be the greatest challenge you have to take up when you have to deal with voluminous datasets. As you know, there is a whole field attributed to the storing, manipulating, and disseminating of these data. So, Id like you to share with me your ideas on how you leverage this field to give us an edge over our competitors. Here are a few questions I am expecting you to answer (50 points):
a. What are your data sources? How are you going to handle variety?
b. Are you going to use a data warehouse or Hadoop, or both of them? Please explain why and how?
c. How do you plan to derive value from your big data? How do you get it to serve our business goals?
d. Having servers on-site is costly, risky, and difficult to maintain. Moreover, they are not scalable. My suggestion here would be to consider using a cloud service. But you are the one who knows your business best. Which types of services should you get from the cloud vendors? For which purposes?
e. Lastly, a company can only rise on the shoulders of competent teams. Therefore, recruiting those who can contribute most to our company is crucial. I am really interested in what you are looking for in an employee. As an illustrative example, please share with me a sample data scientist job post: requirements and job description.
