Many examples of anti-trust legislation and ways the government has attempted to control monopolies regarding corporate consolidation seem to counteract anti-trust laws. How does the government justify having both of these policies happen concurrently? Most of our substantial anti-trust laws were written 30+ years ago; due to changing technology, is it time to write another? If so, what additions would need to be included in the new laws?
