Many of you have asked if the class would have any kind of 'curve' happening. Well, should there be? You tell me.

The distribution of all the Honors Statistics classes looks approximately symmetric with a mean of 78% and a standard deviation of 5%. The 5-number-summary is (43, 68, 81, 84, 99).

Should I adjust scores in your classes? Write me a letter to convince me to do this by citing your knowledge of statistics and telling me exactly what I ought to do and why. Please make sure you include the following in your letter:

1. What an appropriate shape, center and variability for class scores should be (A perfectly designed course would yield what kind of distribution of grades?).
2. How should each student's new grade be calculated? (How every grade in the distribution is changed and what that's called)
3. How does this curve preserve academic integrity? Specifically, that the variance between students is preserved (what statistical measure am I referring to?)
