Many officers today do not realize the past struggles of the minority pioneers and some of the hurdles that have been overcome. Pre- pare a presentation for new recruits outlining the obstacles that used to keep certain groups out of law enforcement, the progress minori- ties have made over the years, and the inter- ventions and court rulings that have facilitated these gains.
