Many people fear that if labor becomes more productive (by using robots, computers, etc.) that firms will hire fewer workers. In other words, they expect the demand for labor to decrease, depressing wages and creating unemployment.In fact, the opposite repeatedly has been proven: increases in labor productivity increase the demand for that labor, driving up wages and decreasing unemployment.What erroneous assumption are these Luddites making?
