Marcus Hutchins A British hacker, Marcus Hutchins, was in the airport on his way home from the Def Con Hacking convention when he was detained by FBI agents. He was charged with helping to create and sell malicious code known as Kronos and the UPAS Kit, software that facilitated hacking. This malware was designed to target banking information and to work on many types of web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. The hacker was kept in custody for many months before being released in July last year with one year of supervised release. In 2017, Mr. Hutchins was credited with stopping the famous WannaCry virus from expanding through the NHS. He is also an avid cyber security expert and known ethical hacker.
