Margaret, the manager of the computer department at ABC Electronics has a problem. Six months ago, she named Eric as the new sales supervisor in the department and is not working out well. Eric clearly enjoys being a supervisor but for all the wrong reasons. Now that he is a supervisor he seems to spend a lot of his time criticizing his employee for a lot of the same things that did when he was sales representative .He is often to be found in his office drinking coffee and surfing internet only coming onto the handle major problems. Since he moved into the role, the sales team has underachieved his employees do not respect him. and Margaret has heard that they think he is a poor supervisor .

To make matters worse , most of employees his employees were his peers when he was a sales associate .they know that when Eric wasa sales representative ,he was often impatient when dealing with customers and could not bothered to learn about the products .In spite of this ,he had good results and Margaret decided he had earned promotion .

Margaret has told Eric that he has to straighten himself out if he wants to remain a supervisor and coach his employees on how to improve their sales performance or else.

The next set of questions will refer to this case
