PART A: Analysis of chosen advertisements for a product category

Choose one print ad (which you have found on the Internet, in magazines or newspapers display ad on separate page) for one product category of your choice (for example, ice cream. Write a description of what you think are 3 demographic and 3 psychographic characteristics of the targeted market. (6 marks)

PART B: Integration of the marketing mix

You are the Marketing Manager of an organisation that specialises in providing support and information to International Students in Australia. An app has been designed that is a one stop shop for all international student needs.

Your job is to design, develop and manage an Instagram account to gain followers in order to market the app.

  • How will you use social media as part of the marketing mix for this company?
  • Provide a comprehensive list of international student hashtags to gain followers.
  • What does your target market need from Instagram in order to follow an account/ make it interesting and hopefully purchase the app?
  • How will Instagram be integrated in the 4P’s order to achieve marketing success?
