Guide for your reflection:

Reflection helps us learn how and why we have changed as a result of our learning. It can help our critical thinking skills and help us make connections between what we learn in school and what we see in the world and learn in our everyday lives.

Reflecting on a class can also help us realize why and how it may be important to our education and life goals. Reflection also helps us see how we grow and change over time-something that can be very rewarding and motivating.

(Aim to answer at least 3-4 of the following guiding questions).

• How did (Unit 2)(chapters 4-6)the section on Motivation (Ch. 4 and 5) , Teams and work groups (Ch. 6) , and Trust ( end of Ch. 6)in the workplace connect to your understanding of Management? Of People?

• If your friend just accepted a management position, what would be one piece of advice you would give him/her that relates to this unit?

• What can you say about your own personal need for motivation? Do you think you are internally/externally motivated? Or Where do you see yourself in the Needs theories? Ie (McLelland's Needs Theories) - Do you have a need for power, affiliation, achievement? What kind of a job would not meet your motivational needs?

• Was there anything that surprised you in this unit?

• How can you take some of these concepts and apply them to your future? Provide examples of where this understanding might come in useful?

• Is there anything else you would like to comment on?
