William, frustrated at the lack of profitability of the venture, decided to work as a consultant for a rival business without disclosing his activities to the others. This proved to be very profitable for William and he decided to keep the profits for himself. William's secret activities were only discovered when a visiting client recognised William and advised Harry and Charles.
