Martin Brink is a co-owner of a family business located in the Eastern Cape. The business, Brink &Brink, manufactures wooden furniture for both the local and international markets. Recently, Martin read the following in an article in a journal for the South African wood furniture industry The use of the Internet in facilitating and enhancing the access to global markets is becoming increasingly important to South African producers of wooden furniture as they become integrated into the global economy and are exposed to the demands of more sophisticated markets. Failure to adopt e-commerce technologies could marginalize producers of wooden furniture and isolate them from the international markets that they wish to supply After reading this article Martin realized that Brink & Brink, although it had up to now not invested in e-technology, should consider doing so. He decides to prepare a proposal for the next management meeting suggesting just this. Assist Martin to prepare for the meeting by answering the following questions. Questions 1.
