Mary is about to start her full-time one-year master degree at OKU. She will live in a dorm. The
dorm rental for the whole year is $59000. The tuition fee is $225000. The general living expenses are
$43000. At this moment, her former boss offers Mary a part-time job that will require her to work 20
hours per week. This is work from home and thus does not require any travelling expenses and other
expenses. And, Mary is so familiar with the work that she will not accumulate any valuable work
experience from the job. In total, the part-time job pays $47500 for the year. If Mary does not take up
the part-time job, she will be able to use all her time to study, and to participate in extra-curricular
activities (such as case competition, mentorship program, etc.). She is then expected to obtain a
decent GPA and also develop some good leadership skills via the extra-curricular activities. Expenses
related to the extra-curricular activities amount to $15500 for the year. In contrast, if Mary takes
up the part-time job, she will have no time to participate in any of the extra-curricular activities.
In addition to giving up leadership skill development, she expects to obtain a poorer GPA from her
study. She values the higher GPA and the leadership skill development by the amount of $W. Mary
should take up this part-time job only
