Marylin is a newly qualified conveyancer and is dealing with an established and valuable client of the practice, Miss Lamb. The client asks Marylin to deposit 80,000 into the firm's client account from a party that the client describes as 'her uncle who is a leading politician in an oppressed state in Europe and who needs somewhere to deposit his political parties' funds'. The client also asks Marylin to undertake the formulation of a contract for an oil and gas regulator in her uncle's home country.
