Mass Balance Question: A plant is to produce 1 0 0 , 0 0 0 tonnes per annum of 9 8 % w / w

Mass Balance Question:
A plant is to produce 100,000 tonnes per annum of 98% w/w H2SO4. Elemental sulphur is burned to form SO3, ensuring complete conversion by supplying 20% more air than is required stoichiometrically. Enough water is then added to yield a final product in the form of 98% w/w H2SO4.
Hence determine:
1. the amount of sulphur to be burned per hour,
2. the volume of air required per hour measured at 1.0 bar and 298K,
3. the weight of water input required per hour,
4. the molar and volume composition of the exhaust gases (volume composition expressed as %v/v).
Assume a 24-hour day and 300 day working year. Air may be taken as 79% N2 and 21% O2 by volume.
