Math 2 Discussion Seven:Part II (8 points) Check out all your classmates' posts and the sources they cited - did they do a good job explaining what hypothesis testing is - one sided, two sided, t and z tests? Classmate response to discussion:A hypothesis test is a procedure to test a claim regarding the value of a population parameter using a sample statistic. You need the sample mean and the population mean. A one-tailed test is used when you want to determine a differenc in your two groups in a specific direction. Two- tailed test is used when wanting to determine if there is any difference in the two groups you are comparing. A t statistic is used when the sample is small or the deviation is unknown. A z score is used when the variation is known or the sample is greater than 30. An example for T testing- You want to know if a new drug really lowers a person A1c. An example of z score is a teacher uses z score to compare one students test score to the rest of the class scores. sources: https://datatab.net/tutorial/hypothesis-testing
