Mature minors and MAiD:

Consider the situation of John, aged 15, who is found to be a mature minor. He decides to stop cancer treatment. His oncology team supports his decision. He has been in treatment for two years and the cancer "has not been beaten". Further treatment is considered futile by his care team. He is expected to die within a month. He asks for MAiD. His parents and care team after the consent is informed and freely given. His request will be refused. John says, "it is illogical that I can decide to stop my cancer treatment but I cannot have MAiD because of my age". Do you think the law should be reformed not to allow mature minors to seek MAiD and why?
