Maverick Johnson is a drone enthusiast who runs a drone business located in Geelong. He placed the following advertisement in Facebook: On Monday 21 January, Johnny responded to the advertisement via Whatsapp, communicating his desire to purchase the advertised drone.

Maverick and Johnny then spent the next couple of days negotiating - with Johnny presumably purchasing the drone on 23 January. A day later, Maverick backs out from the deal claiming the drone has already been sold to another buyer. Johnny is furious at this outcome, arguing a valid contract was made and Maverick has broken it. Johnny comes to you for your advice as to whether a contract was made between him and Maverick. He shows you the original Facebook advertisement and conversation history from Whatsapp as evidence.
