For the final paper, I want you to detail a moral dilemma--a scenario in which someone is faced with a difficult decision because each option seems good in some respect and bad in another. The moral dilemma you choose can be a work of fiction--in which case, this is akin to creative writing--or it can be a famous/historical/anecdotal scenario. Detailing the scenario, however, is only the beginning. The bulk of your writing will be you explaining how each action follows one of the ethical theories. You will have to explain two different possible actions the person can take, and each of those actions will need to be interpreted through the lens of a different moral theory. After analyzing the scenario in terms of ethical theories, I want you to make an original argument for what action you think the person confronted with the moral dilemma should take. Note, this is an argument; you will need a conclusion and at least one premise (do not make a list of unrelated premises). In sum, there are three parts of the paper:

1. Describe a moral dilemma that a person could face.
2. Analyze the two actions a person could take in that moral dilemma and explain them in terms of an ethical theory. Give a summary explanation of each of the ethical theories you use.
3. Make an argument for what the person should do.

The criteria in the rubric are labeled S1-3 to reference the 3 parts above. Note that in S2 the two ethical theories must be drawn from the following list: Utilitarianism, Kantianism, Virtue Ethics, Care Ethics, and Natural Law Theory. If other theories are chosen, no points will be given.
