Maxwell Tembo is charged with sexually assaulting his niece Betty aged 15 years old. It is alleged that on 24th January 2020, Maxwell left his bedroom at night and sneaked into the room where his niece was sleeping and sexually assaulted her. Betty shares the room with Maxwell's daughter Susan aged 12 years and who was asleep but woke up to find her father getting up from Betty's bed. Medical evidence shows the Betty had been bruised. The Director of Public Prosecutions is preparing the matter for trial and seeks to call Susan as a witness in the matter and also Maxwell's wife who has since divorced him as she found out what he was doing that night.
