Correct all your answers to 2 decimal mints. Q.1 (a) A truck collects soil and aggregates from a construction site in Tsing Yi to a land reclamation project in Ma On Shan. The truck departs from Tsing Yi from rest and accelerates uniformly to a maximum velocity of 22 mfs in 2 minutes. The truck maintains this constant velocity for 20 minutes. When the truck approaches the construction site in Ma 0n Shan, it decelerates uniformly until it stops. If the waiting time is ignored and the truck is assumed to travel in a linear motion, the whole trip takes 25 minutes. (i) Sketch a velocity-time graph to show the motion of the truck from Tsing Yi to Ma 0n Shan. Labels and data should also be indicated. (5 marks) (ii) Calculate the deceleration in mfs2 of the truck when it approaches the construction site in Ma On Shan. (5 marks) (iii) Using (i) or otherwise, nd the total distance (in km) between two construction sites. (5 marks) (b) A column lifting to the top of a building accidentally falls from the crane and reaches the ground 6 seconds later. Assuming that the column falls freely under gravity and the air resistance is neglected, determine: (i) the height of the column before falling down; and (5 marks) (ii) the velocity when the column reaches the ground
