Maybe I am not understanding this, could you guide me through this?

This is the instructions - The terms "international," "multinational," and "global business" are often used interchangeably; however, there are differences among these terms. Multinational Corporations (MNC) have facilities and assets in at least one country other than its home country. They adjust their products (i.e., goods, services, and ideas) to each of the local markets. Global companies are located in a number of countries where they promote and distribute the exact image/brand in all markets. Still, managing in either form of international business requires an understanding of the political, cultural, economic, and regulatory environment of the countries where they operate. Also, it is important to gain an understanding of how people are different in each culture. The cultural dimensions of humane orientation, individualism/collectivism, and others are key to understanding the people part of your work as a leader and a manager.

After reviewing the work cited in the introduction to this week's work, select three countries from three different parts of the globe (e.g., North American, Pacific Rim, Europe). Compare and contrast the cultural dimensions of each. Then, discuss how you would lead and manage a group from each culture, based on your knowledge of these cultural dimensions.

For this assignment, includes the following sections:

  • Offer a brief introduction about the importance of understanding cultural dimensions in global leadership.
  • Compare and contrast the three countries on the basis of cultural dimension.
  • Identify how you would manage a typical work situation (choose a work scenario that you are familiar with that might include training, general supervision, etc.) with regard to each of the three dimensions.
  • Use what you learned from the Week 1 self-assessment to discuss how your particular leadership strengths and limitations would either help or hinder you in this work.
