MBA strategy 'Think' Assignment brieng: Framework for strategic thinking and strategy practice Introduction You will build a model, which you can represent on one page. This will be a rich model including the following: 1. The question(s) you were asking yourself around strategic thinking and strategy practice 2. A systemic framework of ideas based on a Causal Loop Diagram that answers the question(s) you were asking 3. Methods that you can use in practice Brief (a) Daily learning logs. You will write up 10 + key learnings per session for the course. 110 at least. But your learnings don't have to be limited to the class sessions but can come from your readings, conversations, thinking etc one between one class session and the next. Let's call this time the class session plus the time until the next class an interval. Thus each interval you will record 10 key learnings that are important to you. By the end of the course you will have approx 110 key learnings. You will use these as a basis for deriving your framework for strategy thinking and strategy practice. See appendix 1 for details. The briefing for how to create these models will be done in Julian Day's sessions. (b) Area of Concern. Think about your current situation and concerns. Develop a boundary question that you would like to answer around strategic thinking and strategy practice e. An example could be \"what factors influence sound strategy thinking and enable effective strategy practice?" You make not like this phrasing, so write a question in your own words to make it more appropriate for you. (c) Framework of ideas. Answer the question using the systems thinking process. Use the \"What\" column of your daily learning logs as a source and cluster them using an afnity diagram (AD) into a manageable number of system variables. Use these variables to develop an interrelationship diagraph (ID) to find key drivers and then derive a causal loop diagram (CLD) representing your framework of ideas. (d) Method of intervention. Flesh out your framework of ideas into a model of strategy practice by incorporating appropriate methods. tools. techniques and ways to intervene. The source for this will be the \"How\" column of your daily learning logs. (e) Critical reflection. If you have followed the brief correctly. you should have produced a rich model for strategy thinking and strategy practice on a single page. You will have a representation that includes vour ouestionlsl. vour svstemic framework of ideas and
