In groups of 5 or 6, with each individual holding the role of one of the listed positions, demonstrate the Meeting Management Guidelines learned by holding a meeting for your hotel. The type of hotel and the facilities that it offers should be decided upon to make the focus of the meeting more realistic.
The purpose of your meeting and the recorder must be decided upon and stated at the beginning of your meeting. Prior to the demonstrated meeting, each individual should be introduced according to their position in the hotel.
- The meeting will be set up Board Room Style and placed in the front of the room.
- A copy of the agenda should be provided not only to the meeting participants but to each class member prior to your meeting.
- The meeting must include a brief topic that involves each of the participants and must include dealing with the 3 common meeting spoilers.
- The following must be clearly evident in the process of the meeting: Focusing on the discussion Encouraging Full Participation Controlling Aggression
- Each participant in the meeting will be given a grade based on their attendance and interaction in the meeting. If a participant is not present for the meeting they will not qualify for any marks.
- The Minutes of the Meeting must be prepared in advance and submitted for grading.
