Melissa is the the owner of DoneRight computers, a company that sells commercial computers to large companies. Lance is one of the sales people. Melissa fires Lance from employment on a Monday. After being fired, Lance waits a couple of days but then has a great idea - on the next Thursday, three days later, Lance decides go to customers of DoneRight and tell them that if they pay with cash, they will have a 20% discount on their invoices. In the past, Lance has regularly collected checks and payments for DoneRight. Lance is able to obtain $20,000 in receivables in this manner from 4 different customers. The customers did not know he was no longer employed by DoneRight .

Melissa attempts to collect the $20,000 from the 4 customers, but they refuse to pay, saying they paid Lance already. Melissa then informs them that Lance was fired before he took their money.

If Melissa sues each of the 4 customers for the payments, who will win and why?
