Metal Recovery using Membrane Distillation Process

Produced water is naturally occurring water in the formation brought to the surface with hydrocarbons throughout the lifetime of the well. The existence of boron in produced water holds high economic potential when recovered. Hence, the recovery of born is proposed using membrane distillation (MD) system which could form enriched solution containing higher concentration of boron. The boron then can be recovered through precipitation method. This project will focus on experimental set-up of MD process, feed conditions study and process parameters study to maximize the recovery of boron.

a) Literature review : include selection table for metal recovery using membrane distillation technique such as the metal recovery concentration by the changes of temperature
