The reactor effluent is taken out at a rate of mol H CO and CHOH percentages by weight The stream is then passed through a condenser and the majority of the methanol is drawn out in liquid form. The gas stream leaving the condenser, containing CO H and mol uncondensed vapor, is recycled and combined with the fresh feed.
