Plan/Manage Development Develop standards, procedures and resource requirements for product design, testing Process and production. This plan must be managed, periodically evaluated, and reengineered to meet the operating unit's objective 2. Responsibilities Quality and production process owners should ne involved at the beginning of the process 3. Risk Assessment Risk assessment procedures should be developed to ensure product risks are analyzed and documented. Regulatory requirements should also be identified and appropriately addressed 4. Marker Research Concurrent and integrated market research and product development should be performed to analyze the need and help define customer requirements and expectations 5.Information Management Up-to=date systems that support product development should be evaluated and System and Tools implemented. 6.Safeguarding Intellectual Confidentiality is critical to the research and product development functionalities. Property Confidentiality agreements should be executed between all pertinent parties in the research and product development process. 7. Supplier Relationships Suppliers should be involved as early in the process as possible. Monitor supplier agreements regarding partnering, bonuses, or penalties for quality, costs and timely deliveries. Consider incentives for suppliers proposing optimized solutions 8. Testing Design testing, quality testing and customer beta tests should be performed consistently. Prototype and testing procedures should be communicated and followed. To the extent possible, customers should be involved as early in the process as possible. 9. Monitor and track Consistent monitoring of performance in all phases of a project should be completed Performance and evaluated. Aspects that should be monitored should include i)strict adherence to design, testing and project plan, including the participation of all team members ii )cycle times iii Problems reported by customers and compared with industry standards and company objectives iv) development and testing costs v)customer service and support 10.Supporting Documentation of engineering specifications, drawings, vendor drawings and other Documentation specifications should be maintained in accordance with company's document retention policies. Modifications during the development process should be documented as changes are approved. All engineering drawings should be updated. Risks if Standards are not Implemented
