1.An adolescent is leaving the house for school without eating breakfast. The mother is distressed, and the father is not sure if it is a problem.

2.When the wife begins to speak about an event, her husband "helps her" by correcting her recall of events.

3.Your patient, a 40-year-old male, is hospitalized for addiction. He would like his wife to stop mentioning addiction when she sees him.

4.A child will only eat chicken nuggets for dinner. The child's height and weight are in the normal range for her/his age.

5.The husband walks away when his wife needs to talk to him about his ex-wife.

6.The wife wants her husband to choose healthier foods on his days to cook.

7.A grandmother complains that her grandchildren speak rudely about their father (her son) when he is not there. The grandmother is distressed by their disrespect. Their mother laughs when they make the comments about their father.

8.The parents-in-law visit for one month in the winters and stay in your patients' home. While they are there, they begin helping with parenting. The son-in-law is angry and does not want his parents-in-law parenting their children.

9.The wife stays in bed in the morning when her husband gets up for work. The husband wants his wife to make his breakfast and lunch. The wife says that it is not her job. In this family, the husband is the wage earner. The wife is a homemaker: they have no children, and one dog.

10.An adolescent wants to go to church with his neighbors. His family does not attend church, and they do not practice a religion. The father thinks church is a "racket." The father continues to call his son names because he says "only homosexuals need to go to church.
