Michael is an award-winning director of cinematography who will be filming a documentary about the rapid rate of glacier melting in the Arctic. He will be filming in the northern part of Nunavut. This production employs vrit style filming where the camera is hand-held and on the run. Michael is skilled as a mountaineer, rock climber, skier, kayaker and adventure racer. His work is distinguished not only for its beauty and technical expertise but also for his willingness to take on challenges of any situation or location. His creative aerial work using a gyro-stabilization system has earned him Emmy awards and nominations. Michael will work with a small team of two other individuals who are Canadians. To get to Nunavut, the crew must stay in Ottawa for a few nights. The expedition will last approximately five weeks. The crew will be spending approximately $100,000 CAD on expenses: hotel stays, dining in restaurants, transportation (including chartered planes), equipment rentals, and purchase of provisions for the crew. The production is non-unionized, and the International Cinematographers Guild confirmed that they do not need to provide authorization. For post-production, there are contracts in place (valued at approximately $250,000 CAD) to employ a Canadian editor
