Michael is an investment banker. He is keen to purchase an engagement ring for his on and off girlfriend Natalie. He visits Bedaled. a boutique jewelry shop in Fdelaide Streetr Brisbane that specialises in selling rings for all occasions. He notices a sign outside the jewelry store that states \"Like It or Replace It! Any ring purchased from Bedazled co mes with a peace of mind policy that entitIE the purchaser to swap it within 30 days for another ring in store for any reason whatsoever." He is greeted hythe sales manager Olivia. Michael informs her that he is loo king to purchase an engagement ring for his girlfriend. She shows him a selection of rings that range from $1.000 to $10,000. He picks the most expensive classic solitaire diamond ring set in white gold from the YE Collection. Dlivia remarks that the ring is a very popular choice with her customers as it has a timeless and simplistic dEign. She casually states "Your engagement proposal is a done deal. No one would decline such a beautiful ring." Michael then pays $10,000 with his credit card for the purchase of the ring. That same evening, on a dinner date with Natalie at a fastfood restaurant he gets into a heated argument with Natalie as to why he should not be paying for her meal. He later regrets arguing with her and tries to patch things up by offering to many her. He retrieves the ring from his pocket and offers it to her as an engagement proposal. Natalie isso upset with him that she tells him that it is all over and that she never wants to see him ever again. Michael keeps the ring for 2 years hoping that Natalie might change her mind. After more than 2 years he nally gives up all hope of marrying Natalie and seeks to retJJm the ring to Bedazzled in exchange for a full refund. Dlivia who still works for Bedazzled after all these years says that regrettably she cannot assist Michael with a refund as that would be contrary to the shop's policy.
