Michael went to Whiteware Solutions Ltd to look at their range of dishwashers. He spoke to the salesperson about the different brands' good and bad points. He told the salesperson that he specifically wanted a dishwasher that would use no more than 4 lites of water per load as his house was not connected to the Council's main water supply. The water supply to his house is from rainwater collected into tanks and in summer had to be very careful to save as much water as possible. Michael was particularly concerned as it was the end of January, and his family never used the dishwasher more than once a day to conserve water.

lites per load and would be perfect for his circumstances. Michael agreed to buy the Waterwise model.The Waterwise dishwasher functioned correctly during the first few weeks, and the family was initially pleased with its performance. However, one month later, Michael noticed that the household water consumption had increased significantly, so he monitored the amount of water that the dishwasher was using. The result was that the dishwasher was using 8 litres of water per load. Michael was very concerned as he would now have to buy water to fill the tanks because the remaining supply would not last through the summer.
