Mini-Project 5 Monetary and Non-Monetary Prices Purpose: To examine the monetary and non-monetary costs of products. To obtain most products, we consumers use dollars or the currency of the country where the product is being sold. When we are marketing people or ideas, the price may not be dollars and cents but still there are non-monetary costs involved. For instance, the politician is not seeking your money but does want your vote. For most products, there are both monetary and non-monetary costs. You can buy a gallon of milk for less money in a large super market than you can in the local convenience store but you have the added costs of time and effort to obtain the product. The decision to buy a product is made when consumers consider the cost-value relationship, that is, they consider if the value received is worth the cost
