Mission Medical Center during the current year has had an average of 76 discharges per day. Records are kept in hard copy for 5 years. The average size of the record is 1 ". Filing equipment consists of 600 shelving units each with 6 shelves that are 48 inches in length. Currently 588 of the units are full. Plans have been made to revise the file room so that 7 years of hard copy records can be stored. All of the current filing equipment will be replaced with 8-tier shelving units that have 60- inch shelves. Annual discharges for the past five years are as follows: (2002) 21900, (2003) 25550, (2004) 24455, (2005) 22995, and (2006 projected) 27740.
