Background Information Technology allows a company to access huge amounts of competitive data. The amount of data is so immense that marketers must know where to find information and how to use the information they find. The Central Intelligence Agency's World Factbook is one go-to source. Alexa.com, state government sites, and Google analytics are a few of the hundreds of other resources with valuable data. You might be asking yourself, how does the internal environment affect the product sales? Here is an example: Rachel loves the Subway six-inch tuna sub with lettuce and light mayonnaise. She visits Subway often to purchase her favorite sandwich, knowing that she can get it exactly how she likes it. One day, her favorite Subway closes ten minutes early and the employees inside will not open the door for her. Rachel never goes back to that particular Subway. That Subway has lost her business because of the internal environment, not the product. Luckily, there are lots of other Subways to serve Rachel. Instructions 1. Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade. 2. Read, review, and check for understanding in the module: a. External Environment 3.
