MKS is a Manufacturing Company started before 15 years and it has 4 Branches in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Canberra with currently 60 employees working full time. Since they started, they were expanding the company step by step with the support of a local IT Person. Now the company has reached the network and IT limitation, the management has decided to request an IT company to do the network restructuring to all the 4 branches one after the other. Phase one will be the restructuring the head office located in Moroni Drive, Dandenong. Where in the head office they have 25 staffs working full time and 5 staffs working part time. Part time employees are working only 3 days a week and especially on weekends. All the full-time staffs have got a local intercom to make calls internally and externally. In the Head office they have 30 desktop computers and 4 Printers. In the head office MKS has three physical servers, Namely Active Directory, DHCP and DNS server, File server to store all the company data, and an email server running exchange server running on Windows server 2012. Daily backup has been set to run every night 8.00PM with an email notification using veeam community backup application and are set to transfer to a Synology NAS. Apart from daily backup company has no other failover or disaster recovery plans implemented yet. The head office has IP CCTV cameras. Around 15 computers purchased in the year of 2015 are running windows 7 operating systems and in 2020 company purchased another 10 desktops running windows 10 operating systems. Last year again management purchased five windows 11 computers to head office. Further to servers they have also got other network peripherals such as Printers, Scanners, bar-code reader fingerprint scanners. All the devices are interconnected. The internet connection is from Telstra unlimited NBN. Web site is hosted with Godaddy. MKS is looking to implement a FTP server where customers can upload any documents, since they have email attachment restriction to 10MB. Branch offices has no servers, and they are using MYOB cloud shared application and email clients on the local computers. Sydney has 3 computers running win 7, Adelaide branch has 2 computers running win 8.1 and in Canberra 2 computers with win 8.1 After the research MKS has decided to approach you to give a proposal for their restructuring project. As a restructuring the IT infrastructure MKS is looking to implement the following while upgrading the legacy systems. 1. Migrate the Physical servers to virtual infrastructure 2. Migrate the server 2012 to server 2019. 3. Site to site/Remote access VPN to connect the branches 4. Remote desktop service to support the business expansion in the other states. 5. VoIP system to make internal Audio video calls. 6. A network monitoring system to monitor the network and infrastructure 7. Upgrade the existing routers and switches with a new firewall to each site(firewall configuration is optional).
