Module 6: Applied Psychology Discussions

Respond to at least two of your peers. Please format your two replies according to the 3CQ reply guidelines. Just help me reply to these two students just by giving them feedback.

Student one:The subfield of Psychology that would help me in my intended track would be Industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology which is the study of people at work and in organizations. Why I think this subfield would be helpful for my intended career is because I plan to go into Human Resource Management before I finish my Masters' in Psychology and this subfield would help me be better at my job in HR. I would study the jobs, get a feel of them and see what kind of person would be best suited for that position. I would also be able to study the culture of the office, understand how to even create a better culture or environment if it needs it.

Student two:The subfield of psychology that could help me would be industrial/organizational psychology which is the study of people at work and in the organizations. I chose this subfield because it will give me the opportunity to see what kind of workplace I would be in before applying to a job. In the textbook it says, (studying jobs by underlying skills) I can do my own research to make sure this is the job i want and i'm willing to work for in a healthy environment. The textbook also states (studying organizations to understand how they create structure). With that information I should already be informed on how they move, how they work and what skill I can bring to show that I'm ready for what's ahead of me.
