Monica is a support worker meeting with Tania, an Aboriginal woman, to discuss ways to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures into a training program for staff. The community service is in a remote area and there is a poor engagement by local Aboriginal people with the services provided by the service. A recent survey of staff revealed that staff understand about loss of land rights and how living in remote areas means poor engagement with services. However, they feel they don't fully understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures and histories.
